Crocheting some Valentine's Rose Rings

I've decided to take a bit of a break from doing the Messy Bun Hats and concentrate on something I worked on a bit a couple of years ago.  Rose rings!

I'm a big ole softie.  It doesn't have to be a dozen roses or a box of chocolates but something from the heart or just something adorable.  This is a bit of all that ... except the chocolate.  Chocolate is always appreciated. Mmmm Chocolate.  Wait.  I'm getting off course here.

Here are just 4 of the rings I've finished.  From left to right I have the small red rose, large white, small white and larger red.  I say "larger" because it's not the biggest one but it's bigger than the other pictured.  All but the red on the end have alternating rings.  If there's a red flower, the band is white and if there's a white flower the ring is red.  Only the one on the end has a yellow band, just to show another option.

I plan on doing these in other colors.  I have an Orchid purple, Teal green, Mint green, Yellow, and Somewhere I have the variegated threads you see at Walmart and craft stores.  So if there's a color you want, I'll be able to make it.  You can have your choice of matching band or the standard white/black/red.

I'm also looking into doing other flowers like daisies or orchid type flowers.  I can also add a button or bead in the center. I'll be doing some photos of those later in this weekend/week if we ever get proper lighting.  All these photos were taken yesterday when we almost had sunshine.  Almost.

This is the small white flower with white band and the larger red with yellow band on my hand.

As with the Messy Bun Hats, I'm selling these and donating the profits toward my son and his class.  I'm not sure if I posted about it here but my son, 16, is in his high school's Advanced Choir and they are hoping to attend Festival Disney in April.  They've done a lot of fundraising and none of the appx 30 children are paid off enough to go.  It's almost February so we're making our last push before it's time to start selling furniture. LOL

SO, if anyone wants these I'll be putting them up on my Etsy page, today I hope, and they will be $6 each.  I'm paying shipping out of pocket and 100% of the sale goes to help Advanced Choir students make the trip.  (This does not include the state tax which I make Etsy add.) I'd love to see your comments or requests so hop on down there and add some. :D

OHHH! I also have a new facebook link for the shop!  So come Like it! :D

Pinwheel Flower Wrap

I've called it HeadWrap, HairWrap, etc but none of them quite fit.  It's not a hat or a head band so I'm unsure what to call it.  What it mostly showcases, however, is the Pinwheel Flower.  I had a request for another one and after making a flower in red with white trim I realized it was more of a holiday looking flower.  I wanted to do another one a little more low-key.
So I did these two.  The one on the right is just Red Heart Super Saver Yarn in Red with the Love This Yarn White Sparkle on the edges.  While the one above is done in Red Heart Super Saver in Buff Fleck with Red Heart Eco-Ways recycled blend yarn in Fern.

I didn't realize that it matched the button but it looks great together. :)  I'm very satisfied with that and delivered both yesterday.

Annabella

In our family, just after Christmas, a beautiful baby was born.  She was born many months premature and is now just barely 3 lbs.  I started a hat for her but was worried that the yarn was too scratchy.  So I waited until I could get better/softer yarn.  Here are the two hats I've made but have yet to send because I want to either make her some booties or a little blanket to go with it.

Snowman and flowers

Snowman Hats!
I've had an idea in my head to work on snowmen for a while.  Finally I finished him and he looked bare on top.  I attempted several times to do a top hat but I just couldn't seem to get it.  Instead I decided on another hat to keep him warm!  This one I did does have a whole other hat on top, sewn on, but others following will be 1/2 one color, then white, with a band across to look like another hat (or folded band).  I figure I could do the top in any color really and do the band in the same color but in a lighter/darker shade.  Pompom is optional but sure is cute :)

I also made a bracelet from the Bernat yarn that I used in the top portion of the hat and used orange for a flower.  That could be bought with the hat or purchased separate on Etsy.  Let me know if you want more than one item so I can create a special private listing for you.

My René PolkaDot hat :)

My girl René asked me for a hat with polka dots, so this one was born.  I knew immediately I wanted a brown hat with pink and maybe green so I sat and hand drew the hat I wanted to make.  I made the top a bit poofier than a standard beanie because it's just more comfortable when you have long hair.  I stayed with the basic idea I drew but added a little flower and leaves.  I stuck with Coffee brown because I LOVE that color.  The pink is actually wool but for the life of me I can't think of the brand.  The green is the Spring color again because... I don't need a reason it's just pretty. :)  (Lots more dots than shown in the pic, promise!)

Sorry the pic is rather dark, our rooms aren't well lit and it's cloudy outside.
Love You René
:)
