Annabella

In our family, just after Christmas, a beautiful baby was born.  She was born many months premature and is now just barely 3 lbs.  I started a hat for her but was worried that the yarn was too scratchy.  So I waited until I could get better/softer yarn.  Here are the two hats I've made but have yet to send because I want to either make her some booties or a little blanket to go with it.

  1. I love the little pink hat! I tried to make something like that, but alas, I cannot seem to figure out the shell stitch. For now I'm sticking to tight-stitch amigurumi. :P

  2. It's really easy. I didn't know what I was doing either but they were so cute. I'm rather hooked (ar ar ar) on these Crochet today! magazines. In their Jan/Feb 2011 issue they have this cute little heart hat and for the heart, at the top, you do two shells. The top starts with 11 stitches so you skip the first two, do 5dc, skip two, sl st, skip two, 5 dcs, skip one, sl st in last. I did basically the same thing but I think I actually skipped one st instead of two being that it's so small anyway. I hope that helps and thank you! ;)
